CORN- coarse cracked for cost effectiveness, steam
flaked for appearance, or ˝ and ˝ to get best of both worlds. Steam flaked is definitely recommended for
mix 500

OATS- for high oat mixes crimp half and leave half
whole, for low inclusion rations use whole oats unless you have crimped oats
in bins already - to improve mill efficiency

BARLEY- prefer steam rolled, ground barley creates
to much inconsistency & fines

FAT- prefer to use soy or corn oil because of the nice
appearance, but tallow can be used as well as Dairy Ultra 100 bypass fat

BEET PULP- some of the oats, corn, barley, or cottonseed
hulls can be replaced with beet pulp if you or your customers want it in.
Citrus pulp can also be used
6.
MEDICATIONS & IONOPHORES- because Formula Won is
not medicated you can use the one of your choice. Replace a combination of Corn or oats with your medication.
7.
Cottonseed Hulls – if you decide to use one of your
own mixes, consider keeping in at
least 150 lbs of CSH in for nice texture & “show feed” appearance
8.
During the summer be sure to use a mold inhibitor
